Tooro Kingdom is again in the news for suffering yet another tragedy few days after burying Omukama Oyo in a very dramatic way.
The one char has died is an elder brother of the new king who is also being put under the microscope because of the way he got on the throne.
Prince David Kijanangoma has passed away at the Uganda Cancer Institute in Mulago after battling throat cancer.
Kijanangoma, a cousin to the late King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, made headlines in 2015 when he disowned King Oyo and declared himself King of Tooro, citing what he described as the King’s incompetence. Kijanangoma’s coronation was blocked by the Government of Uganda.

At the time, Kijanangoma alleged that King Oyo and his mother, Queen Mother Best Kemigisa, had sold off several kingdom assets. He also accused the late King of abandoning his palace to stay in Buganda and of abrogating the Tooro Kingdom Constitution.
Tooro Kingdom Suffers Another Tragedy, Loses A Prince
The succession process of Tooro Kingdom has always had drama surrounding it and at this moment it seems like the settlement is even more difficult.
The mother of king Oyo the Queen Mother Best Kemigisha insists that the son had a child and he left it in the will that he will be able to take over.
Unfortunately none is agreeing to that as they claim that his will is invalid and no one is actually willing to accept it in the elder clan members.
