Edward Rukidi Nyabongo I Finally Crowned King Of Tooro After A Long Battle

Edward Rukidi Nyabongo finally crowned king/Omukama of Tooro after a very long battle between the family.

He was chosen to be the king after the death of the youngest king in the world Oyo Nyimba who became the king at 3 years old and died at the age of 34 years.

When Edward was chosen as the king, the mother of King Oyo wasn’t happy with the family. He claimed that his son had left a will and declared his young son who isn’t known to be the next king.

Unfortunately they couldn’t even consider him to be the next king because no one knew anything about him not even the chief prince.

With the family division, the kingdom of Tooro chose the man of their choice and he is now crowned the next king of Tooro.

Tooro Kingdom Suffers Another Tragedy, Loses A Prince

The Omukama of Tooro, His Majesty Edward Rukidi Nyabongo I, and his wife arrive at St. John’s Cathedral in Fort Portal for prayers ahead of the Coronation ceremony.

The Omusuuga however made it very clear that the children of Edward and wife Amoding will not be considered in his succession.

The only child to succeed him should be born to a mutooro lady and it is not clear wether he will consider to marry a second wife to give birth to the next king.
