The Queen Mother of Tooro Best Kemigisha has revealed reasons why the late son Omukama Oyo Nyimba was never introduced to the world.
She made statements following the overwhelming support she has been receiving from people who don’t know her physically but wanted the best for her.
King Oyo died at 34 years after being the youngest king at 3 years. He struggled with cancer for close to three years but her sickness was kept a secret from the Tooro people and even all Ugandans that supported him.
When they announced his death, the statement also revealed that he left a heir and the kingdom shouldn’t be worried about the next King.
However the kingdom elders known as the Babiito had other plans of choosing their own king. They said that they were not told about the sickness of the king and his child was never introduced to them so that they can see if he is really for the family.
King Oyo Leaves Behind A Prince
According to Queen Mother, the baby was supposed to come to the country on the plane that had the father’s body.
But knowing clearly that there was a succession dispute, they decided the child to stay in America and bring him when the time is right.
She thanked Ugandans for loving and supporting her explaining that she will go ahead and keep the son’s legacy alive.
