Canada has extended its temporary border and immigration measures affecting travellers from Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan for another 60 days, until November 27, 2026.
The Canadian government says the extension is due to concerns over the ongoing Ebola outbreak in the DRC and the risk of the disease spreading to neighbouring countries, including Uganda and South Sudan.
The measures include the suspension of certain immigration documents for affected foreign nationals, while additional health screening and quarantine requirements apply to eligible travellers who have recently been in Uganda.

All this started months ago when there was an Ebola outbreak in DR Congo. The fact that it is neighbouring Uganda and South Sudan, it was very clear that cases can easily be transferred.
Canada wasn’t the only country that put up restrictions, most countries couldn’t allow Ugandans to travel in their countries.
However most of the countries lifted the ban early on and Ugandans started travelling again but Canaba and UAE couldn’t do that.
