Ugandan singer Mayanja Ibrahim, popularly known as Big Eye Starboss, is making headlines once again—this time not for politics, but for his renewed commitment to music.
After spending much of 2025 pursuing a parliamentary seat in Nansana Municipality, Big Eye has revealed that his political chapter has closed, and he is ready to reclaim his place in the entertainment industry.
In late 2024, Big Eye held a massive concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval, but soon after, his presence in the music scene dwindled. Fans speculated that he had “gone to sleep” musically, but the artist clarified that his absence was intentional.
He had shifted his focus to politics, aiming to contest for a Member of Parliament seat in the 2026 elections. His campaign, however, did not gain the traction he had hoped for, and by the end of 2025, Big Eye decided to step back from politics.

“I do not know what you call sleep because to be honest the whole of last year I had taken on other responsibilities. I entered elective politics and everyone knows that. It means that direction covered and took up most of my time and attention until it came to an end. So now it is music time.”
Big Eye started his political career in the ruling party but then explained that they were not minding and caring about him, that is why he left for the opposition political party.
