Uganda police have confirmed the death of one Boda Boda guy during the national cleaning day today in the morning.
They said that the Boda Boda ruder was shot by one of their own at Ndejje Kaaba as he has been allowed to go and provide security as they enforce cleaning.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting haven’t actually been revealed but investigations are on going and the police officer is currently under custody.

The Uganda Police Force has registered and commenced investigations into a shooting incident that occurred on 29 August 2026 at at around 7:30 a.m. at Ndejje Kanaaba, within Katwe Police Division.
Preliminary information indicates that police officers from Ndejje Police Station had been deployed to provide security during the National Cleaning Day community exercise in the area.
It is alleged that a boda boda rider attempted to force his way through a secured area while riding his motorcycle. In circumstances that are now under investigation, the rider was allegedly shot by Police Constable Allan Okello a police officer attached to Ndejje Police Station.

The officer has been arrested, and investigations are underway to establish the circumstances under which he discharged his firearm, resulting in the death of the rider.
The deceased has been preliminarily identified through a National Identification Card as Kizito Ronald Jjuuko, a 38-year-old male adult.
The Uganda Police Force expresses its condolences to the family, relatives and friends of the deceased. While police officers are legally mandated to maintain public order and protect life and property, any use of force must be lawful, necessary, proportionate, and strictly guided by the law, established police operational procedures, and the prevailing circumstances.
