As land is one of the biggest assets in Uganda, scammers have made it a point to duplicate everything that surrounds it.
Ugandans that live abroad like buying land back home and even those at home like buying land once they have money but they have been faced with many challenges.
As it is a business, there are genuine people and fake one that sell a person land that doesn’t exists or with fake papers and after building on it they take it back.
Here are some of the tips on how to avoid land scammers in Uganda.
Don’t trust anyone that sells land to give you good land with original paper. Even some people have companies that promise the land is real but later they find out it is not true. Therefore one has to be vigilant when buying land.
Before you buy land look for neighbours of the land to ask more questions about it. Those people usually know the owner and if it has any quarrels around it that can be avoided at all means by the buyer.
Make sure you get legal documents of the land before you pay. Some business men and women come with documents that are fake and by the time the buyer gets to know about it they have eaten the money and the land is taken.
How To Avoid Scammers On Social Media
Don’t pay for the land without witnesses. Most land sellers receive the money and deny having received anything just because there was no one to see that.
