PLU On What Next For Lumbuye After Peaceful Demonstration At Turkish Embassy

The PLU group led by the first son Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba today held a demonstration at the Turkish Embassy in Uganda.

The main reason for it what to demand the return of National Unity Platform (NUP) member Fred Lumbuye from their country.

They claim that he is being shielded their yet he has criminal cases to answer in Uganda and they keep giving him asylum when they shouldn’t.

Although the embassy closed today, one of the PLU members revealed that they will protest once again and see what will happen.

Here is the full statement;

“Today, as instructed by our Chairman @mkainerugaba, we held a successful and peaceful demonstration at the Turkish Embassy, expressing our disappointment with the Turkish Government for harbouring criminals and enemies of our peace and unity as a country.

We asked them to extradite Lumbuye as soon as possible if they truly value our bilateral relations and respect our sovereignty.

We asked them to respect our judicial system and stop granting Lumbuye the asylum status he has applied for through his lawyers in order to escape justice. He should come and face justice.

Ifthey do not respond as they have promised, next time we will shut down the Embassy with a wall of PLU supporters.

I thank all our supporters for turning up to this noble cause in large numbers.
