According to Komuntale, she remembers King Oyo as a very fun brother who she shared so many memories with and up to now she just can’t believe that he died.

She said that when he was diagnosed with cancer, they all thought that he will beat it because they kept it as a secret with his instructions. They said that he was struggling but unfortunately they couldn’t diagnose him early in Kampala .

“His Majesty believed he was going to get better and did not want to create panic among our family members or the kingdom. We respected his wishes because we believed he was going to beat i. Before his cancer diagnosis, he had spent more than a year seeking medical evaluations in Uganda for the different pains he was experiencing. Sadly, he was not receiving the correct diagnosis then,”

She also said that the pain started early in 2025 and for that reason they couldn’t do much about it despite all the good hospitals he went through.
