Tooro Kingdom At Crossroads As A New King ‘Omukama’ Is Announced

Tooro Kingdom is current at crossroads between the family members and the elders of the Babiito clan as they announced the new King ‘Omukama’.

Some of the family members are in support of the new king Edward Kijjanangoma who is also a news anchor at UBC television while the others say that Oyo left a will behind and people should be able to honour it.

There has been disputes of the kingdom for a very long time because the clan members didn’t like the Queen Mother Kemigisha.

When her husband died, Oyo was just three years and unfortunately the kingdom had refused for him to be the king saying that he was actually too young and on top of that the father hadn’t left the will.

But when the Queen Mother went to court, she won and the son successfully became the king but at this moment somethings are now becoming difficult.

King Oyo Leaves Behind A Prince

According to Queen Mother, she wants President Museveni to intervene and honour the son’s will.

President Museveni hasn’t said anything about the kingdom and everyone is waiting for his final word because the new king has to hurry the old king.
